Dúo de guitarras que reune a dos generaciones y cuyos integrantes ejercen enorme influencia sobre sus pares. Jim Hall, quien fuera integrante del quinteto del baterista Chico Hamilton a mitad de los cincuenta y realizara notables grabaciones en dueto junto al pianista Bill Evans (Undercurrent e Intermodulation) y como miembro del cuarteto sin piano del saxofonista Sonny Rollins (The Bridge), tuvo una singular significación sobre quienes surgieron a fines de los setenta y son las grandes referencias de su instrumento en la actualidad, incluido Pat Metheny, quien, a su vez, posee un gran ascendiente sobre aquellos que aparecieron posteriormente a él. Contiene seis temas grabados en vivo en the Craftsmen's Guild, en Pittsburgh, otros registrados en estudio y firmados por cada uno, una serie de improvisaciones, dos standards (All the Things You Are y Summertime), y dos pertenecientes al contrabajista Steve Swallow y al guitarrista Attila Zoller, respectivamente. ****

Cold Spring and All Across the City were arranged by Jim; The Birds and the Bees, Summertime and Don't Forget were arranged by Pat; Ballad Z was arranged by Gil Goldstein, and all others arranged by Jim and Pat.

Excellent post!
Two icons of the 6-strings (even if we remember that Mr Metheny uses to play guitars of 6, 7, 12, and 1000 strings).
