Henry Threadgill's Zooid - Up Popped The Two Lips



Up Popped The Two Lips es el primer álbum de Henry Threadgill con su banda Zooid, editado en 2001, coetáneamente con Everybodys Mouth's A Book. Zooid es otra de sus singulares formaciones, totalmente acústica, e incluye saxo alto o flauta, oud, guitarra, chelo, tuba y batería. Las composiciones contienen las usuales líneas melódicas urgentes, dramáticas, y el contraste entre espacios de tensa calma y dinámicos, zigzagueantes ritmos que muestran a la banda funcionando como un mecanismo perfecto. ****

Be able to forgive some mistake. Sometimes I copy the information of Internet.
One of the few guitarists whose work caught my attention. As Threadgill, Lehman and others, he is more interested in composition and arrangements that in the interpretation of his instrument. I hope to upload some of their albums later.
