Charlie Haden Quartet West - Haunted Heart

Haunted Heart es la tercer entrega del Charlie Haden Quartet West, la agrupación del histórico contrabajista Charlie Haden concebida en 1987 con el álbum Quartet West.

El Charlie Haden Quartet West es sobresaliente. Su interpretación es sutil, elegante, emotiva, rememorando el cine negro y la novela policíaca.

Sin embargo, no resulta convincente la incorporación de los sampleos de las maravillosas voces de Jeri Southern (Haunted Heart), Jo Stafford (Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye) y Billie Holiday (Deep Song), porque significa un agregado innecesario a la performance de un Quartet West en gran forma, quebrando la coherencia del álbum.****
