Acoustic Masters II es la segunda apuesta del sello Atlantic por una grabación que reuna intérpretes notables del género. En esta oportunidad son los siguientes: el legendario Bobby Hutcherson en vibráfono, el no suficientemente reconocido Mulgrew Miller en piano, el venerable Ron Carter en contrabajo y el integrante del supergrupo Return to Forever, Lenny White, en batería (también es el productor tanto de esta entrega como de Acoustic Masters I); a los que se agregan Craig Handy en saxos tenor y soprano y flauta, y Jerry González en trompeta y fliscorno, este último en dos composiciones, una de nombre Pablo (Jane Getter/Lenny White), y el único standard, When I Fall In Love (Edward Heyman/Victor Young).

El inicio es con el tema 8/4 Beat, incluido en el álbum de Bobby Hutcherson Stick-Up! (1966); para luego encaminarse en su mayoría por originales de los integrantes del grupo, en piezas destacadas mas no memorables, por ejemplo: Concrete Blues (Craig Handy), Second Thoughts (Mulgrew Miller) y I Don't Know Why (Lenny White).

Acoustic Masters II es una de esas valiosas sesiones que suelen pasar injustamente desapercibidas.****
